Merge Images

Merge images online: combine photos vertically, horizontally or in a grid into one image, with spacing and background colour. Free and private.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

How to merge images

  1. Drop two or more images onto the upload area. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC files can be combined.
  2. Put the images in the order you want them to appear.
  3. Choose a Layout: Vertical (stacked), Horizontal (side by side) or Grid.
  4. Set the Spacing between images in pixels (0 for no gap) and pick a Background colour.
  5. Select the Output format (JPG, PNG or WebP), click Merge images and download the combined picture.

The images are combined in your browser and never uploaded, so you can safely merge personal photos, documents and screenshots.

Choosing a layout

LayoutResultGreat for
VerticalImages stacked from top to bottomLong screenshots, chat conversations, step-by-step instructions, phone-friendly collages
HorizontalImages placed side by side from left to rightBefore-and-after comparisons, panoramas from separate shots, banners
GridImages arranged in rows and columnsPhoto collages, product overviews, mood boards, contact sheets

Spacing and background colour

The spacing option adds a gap of the chosen number of pixels between images. A small gap of 10–20 px gives a clean, gallery-like look, while 0 joins images seamlessly, which is what you want for stitching screenshots together.

The background colour fills the gaps and any empty areas, for example when images have different sizes. White suits documents and printing, black or dark grey works well for photo collages, and a brand colour can tie a social media graphic together.

Tips for the best result

  • Match image sizes. For vertical layouts, images with the same width line up perfectly; for horizontal layouts, use the same height. Resize Image can bring a batch to a common size first.
  • Pick the right format. Use PNG for screenshots and text so they stay crisp, and JPG or WebP for photo collages to keep the file small.
  • Watch the final size. Joining many large photos creates a very large image. Some platforms limit image dimensions, and very large canvases can exceed what a browser can handle; resize photos first if needed.
  • Make it a PDF instead. If you want each image on its own page rather than one big picture, use JPG to PDF.
Tip: After merging, run the result through Compress Image to make it easier to email or post.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine images of different sizes?

Yes. Images of different sizes can be merged, and any empty space is filled with the background colour you select. For the neatest result, resize them to a common width or height first.

How do I stitch screenshots together without gaps?

Choose the vertical layout, set spacing to 0 and use PNG as the output format to keep text sharp.

Can I use iPhone photos?

Yes. HEIC photos are decoded in the browser and can be merged with JPG, PNG and WebP images.
