These terms govern your use of toolsforanyone.com, its sister domains, its tools and its API (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ToolsForAnyone provides free tools for displaying your IP address and for looking up public network information such as DNS records, registration data, TLS certificates and HTTP headers, together with educational content. We may add, change or remove features at any time.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, stalk or harm anyone;
- attempt to use our tools to attack, probe or scan systems you are not authorised to test;
- use the security tools (including the Website Security Scanner and the SQL Injection Risk Scanner) on websites of government bodies, the military, public institutions (including universities, schools, public hospitals and state-owned companies), international organisations or critical infrastructure;
- send automated requests at a volume that degrades the Service for others, or circumvent rate limits;
- scrape the Site's content wholesale or resell the Service's output as your own service;
- interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
Security tools. The Website Security Scanner and SQL Injection Risk Scanner are passive: they load the address you enter once, as a browser would, and never send attack payloads or test input. You may use them only on websites you own or that you have permission to assess, and you must confirm this before each scan. You are solely responsible for the targets you choose and for complying with the laws that apply to you. Government, military, education and international-organisation domains, and known public institutions and state-owned companies, are refused automatically; this list cannot be complete, and the rule above applies to every public institution whether or not it is refused. For each security scan we record the address scanned, the time and the requesting IP address in our server logs so we can investigate abuse, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from the authorities.
We may block access for anyone who violates these terms.
3. API use
The API is provided free for reasonable personal and commercial use within the published fair-use limits. Please cache results and identify your application in the User-Agent header. We may change limits or withdraw the API with or without notice.
4. Accuracy of information
Results come from third-party and public sources and from live network checks, and may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. IP geolocation in particular is an estimate. Do not rely on the Service as the sole basis for legal, security, financial or safety decisions.
5. Content and intellectual property
The Site's design, text, guides and code are owned by us or our licensors. You may share links to our pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution. Registration data, DNS records and other third-party data remain the property of their respective owners.
6. Third-party links and advertising
The Site contains links to third-party websites and displays advertising. We are not responsible for third-party content, products or services.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us to use it, which for the free Service is zero.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
