UK calculators (tax year 2026/27)
The UK calculators use the rules for the tax year from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027: the personal allowance and income tax bands for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the separate Scottish rates, employee National Insurance, student and postgraduate loan repayments and pension contributions. Start with the UK salary calculator for your take-home pay, or convert an hourly rate with the hourly wage calculator. Part-time workers can use the pro rata calculator, people with a second job the two jobs calculator, and new parents the maternity pay calculator.
Buying a home? The UK mortgage calculator shows monthly repayments and what overpayments save, and the stamp duty calculator covers SDLT in England and Northern Ireland, LBTT in Scotland and LTT in Wales.
US calculators (2026)
The US calculators apply the 2026 federal income tax brackets and standard deduction for each filing status, Social Security and Medicare (FICA), and the income tax of all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Use the US salary calculator for annual take-home pay, the paycheck calculator for each pay period, and the salary comparison calculator to compare offers or states. For borrowing, see the mortgage calculator with property tax, insurance and PMI, the auto loan calculator and the debt payoff calculator; for retirement, the 401(k) calculator.
These calculators give estimates for typical situations and are not financial or tax advice. Rates are reviewed when governments announce changes; each page shows when it was last updated.
Frequently asked questions
Which tax year do the calculators use?
UK calculators use the 2026/27 tax year (6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027); US calculators use the 2026 federal and state rules. Every rate comes from official sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC, the IRS, the SSA and state revenue departments.
Are the results exact?
They are accurate estimates for typical employees. Your payslip can differ slightly because of your tax code, benefits, local taxes, pay dates or employer rounding; check anything important with your employer, lender or a qualified adviser.
Is my salary or financial information stored?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent to our server.
Why are there separate UK and US calculators?
Tax, National Insurance, Social Security, mortgages and borrowing work differently in each country, so each has its own pages with the right rules, currency and terms.
