Get your CV past the applicant tracking system

Most large employers and recruitment agencies receive applications through an applicant tracking system (ATS) such as Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS or SmartRecruiters. The ATS turns your CV into plain text, files it into fields such as name, job titles, dates and skills, and lets recruiters search and rank candidates by keywords. A CV that the system cannot read, or that does not use the words in the job advert, can be overlooked even when you are a strong fit.

The ATS CV Checker shows you what the system sees: the text it can extract, the sections it recognises, your contact details, dates and the keywords from the job description that your CV covers or misses. You get a CV score out of 100 and a checklist of fixes, and nothing is uploaded.

Before you send your application, convert your CV with Word to PDF (or keep a .docx if the employer asks for Word), shrink large files with Compress PDF, and if an employer asks whether you used AI, check your cover letter with the AI CV Detector.
