Our mission
ToolsForAnyone is a free online toolbox of 243 tools for everyday jobs: converting and compressing files, checking whether text was written by AI, opening archives, testing your internet connection, writing and running code, preparing a CV and running a live quiz.
It started, under the name WhatsMyIPNumber, as the simplest possible answer to a common question: what is my IP address? It has grown into a toolbox used by students, office workers, teachers, job seekers, developers and IT teams.
We believe everyday tools should be free, instant, private and understandable. There is no sign-up, files are processed in your browser wherever possible, and every tool explains its results in plain English with a guide that goes deeper. Read how we build and test our tools.
What we offer
- PDF, Office and image tools: merge, split, compress and convert PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and images, and add or remove passwords, all inside your browser.
- ZIP and archive tools: create and unzip ZIP files, open RAR, 7Z, TAR and ISO archives, and convert between formats.
- AI detectors: AI text, CV and image detection, an AI hallucination checker and a plagiarism checker.
- Developer tools and online compilers: JSON, YAML, SQL and XML formatters, encoders, generators and in-browser compilers for C, C++, Python, JavaScript, R, SQL and more, plus a collaborative code editor.
- Career and team tools: an ATS CV checker and a live team quiz that players join from their phones.
- IP tools: your public IPv4 and IPv6 address, IP geolocation lookup, reverse DNS and an IPv6 readiness test.
- DNS tools: DNS record lookup, propagation checks across major public resolvers, MX lookup and SPF/DKIM/DMARC validation.
- Domain tools: RDAP-based WHOIS and a multi-extension domain availability checker.

Where our data comes from
We rely on authoritative, public sources wherever possible:
- IP geolocation from ipwhois.io, which is approximate by nature. Here's why.
- DNS answers from public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers operated by Cloudflare, Google and others.
- Registration data directly from domain registries and regional internet registries via RDAP, located through IANA's official bootstrap files.
- TLS, HTTP and port checks performed live from our servers at the moment you ask.
- File, AI-detection and code tools run on your own device, using open-source libraries such as pdf.js and WebAssembly builds of compilers.
Privacy by design
We do not require accounts, we do not sell data, we do not upload the files you convert, and we do not keep a history of the domains or IP addresses you look up. Results are cached briefly in memory only to keep the service fast. Read our privacy policy for details.
